Automatically enable WIFI after reset

Hello All,

I'm using a Dell Axim X50v to connect to a Terminal Server for a specialized application. To prevent all other functions of the PDA I'm using SPB Terminal Kiosk which is a program that will only allow Teminal client to be started and will automatically connect to the server passing username-password. The "enable" wireless button is also disabled to prevent accidentally turning off wifi. I have also disabled the power saving functions which will turn wifi off. The problem is that sometimes wifi is turned off automatically (for example server down or Access point out of range). When this happens I need to go into administrator mode of the SPB Kiosk program to enable it again. I'm looking for a way to always enable wireless after a soft reset. That should solve my problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Found a utility called WirelessAutoOn but it's only available for the IPAQ.

I"m bumping this year old thread because i have the EXACT same issue. I was using an HX2410 before and was using the WirelessAUton.exe utility but now that I'm using the X51V it doesn't work anymore. Does anyone have another freeware utility that does the same thing?

MPAPOUTS wanted to enable WiFi after a soft reset.
I'm looking for a way to always enable wireless after a soft reset. That should solve my problem.

If that will solve your issue, do this:
Copy the file "WirelessOnOff.exe" from "\My Device\Windows" and paste it as a shortcut into "\My Device\Windows\Startup".

From now on, everytime you soft reset (or lose power), your X51v will enable wireless during start up.

You don't need 3rd party program. The shortcut is only 31 bytes!

It was a good idea but doesn't work very well because if you reset it once, it will Enable the Wireless (Good!!). BUt then if you did another soft reset, when the handheld boots back up it will say Disable Wireless.

The WirelessOnOff.exe looks to be just a toggle, it just switches back and forth whatever the previous setting was.

The iPAQ WirelessAutoOn.exe and WirelessAutoOff.exe was a single file that did one purpose. Only turn the WiFi on or Only turn it off?

ANy other ideas?

p.s. I just noticed another AXIM handheld we took out of the box. WHen we reset this one, the WiFi doesn't turn off, it remains on???

It works perfectly for me. I am using Reset.exe ... not poking the back of the Axim. The software reset turns OFF everything; not to leave wireless or bluetooth On. When my Ax restart, the WirelessOnOff will turn on Wifi.

What I'm trying to accomplish is, if these handhelds were out in the field. and the end user runs into problems, I want them to be able to poke the back of their handheld to reset/reboot their device. When the device comes on, I want to be sure the WiFi is turned on.

I'm use to using the HP iPAQ's where by default if you reset the WiFi gets turned off. I am assuming this is the same with the Dell. Also add to the fact these Dell Axim will be in a kiosk locked down mode, the end user can't get to the wifi screen to turn on the WiFi if by some change it does get turned off.
