ROM version on X50v

Does anyone know HOW to determine the ROM version that comes with the X50v. I just purchased it on 3/19/05. How can I find out?

There are two methods.

First place, under the battery is the badge. The Rom version either A01 or A02 would be displayed to the right of "Service Tag".

However, as Dell has just upgraded to A02, its possible that they may have upgraded the ROMS on previous A01 models before shipment, but not rebadged.

Therefore, the best place is to select:

Start\Settings\System (Tab)
then select "System Information".

One of the items will be the ROM version which should show either A01 or A02.

The number in the battery area is the firmware being used. In my case, my week old x50v came with version A03. The Windows Mobile Editon software that came with it was version A02. Similar type numbers, two different things.
