Maximum Memory supported by X50

I'm interested in buying an Axim X50 or X50v. I'm keen to get as much memory into as possible, the dell product description page doesn't specify a maximum amount of RAM that the device can take via it's CF and SD memory slots. Also a couple of others questions on the slots. I assume that they can be used concurrently. If so does CE2005SE see the two cards as one large external storage volume? As in 512 in SD slot + 512 in CF slot = 1024 of available ext mem storage..

i'm really looking forward to buying one of these things, its all i've been talking about with co-workers for the past week!

Their is no maximum for the memory. WM2003 se is not like old DOS which did have memory limits.

If the card is compatable ( pays to look at the manufacturers site - Magicstor for example gives some problems), then the x50 can use all of volume.

If you fill both CF and SD slots, the x50 and even humble x5, will see and can use both cards, but will report these as two different storage locations and not as one concurrent location

awesome, i was used to the SD flash ram upgradable mp3 players which usually are locked to 512 mb or less!

that's excellent news, thanks very much! what are some good brands? i was just gonna buy the 1 GB sd flash mem stick from Dell at the time of purchase

Scan disk is a good brand, but most brands work just as well, some are a little faster, but then you pay more.

Shop arround, Ebay is a good source

Ebay is an excellent source. Do a search for card sizes of your choice. Then save the search as a favorite. You can then set email preferences where eBay sends you notice of new auctions for the search you saved as a favorite.
