Will The x50v Suit My Needs?

I can see the x50v is a great PDA, but as a first time buyer, will it:

a) be useable off AC power (whilst charging or generally) - bed based browsing!
B) be able to seamlessly share my XP PC's Virgin Net broadband connection
c) display Chinese characters on websites correctly (for partner)
d) play both Windows Media and Real Media streams (specifically BBC)
e) have a decent programming IDE available, preferably Pascal or BASIC

It's the best value PPC out there methinks, but will it be a good laptop alternative? (overpriced for my needs)

I am not familiar with the X50, but I have found that a PDA isn't a subsitute for a laptop. Most software is very basic compared to a laptop/desktop version if made at all. If size isn't a problem go with a laptop. They almost the same price if you watch the sales.
