X50 lost windows 6.5
I bought a X50 from an ebayer about 2 months ago. It has windows 6.5 installed on it. It locked up on me, so after many reboots, I do not have internet explorer or restore capabilities in the Start menu. I have rebooted and re-synced several times.

First thought is that if it's an X50 with 6.5 then it's an unofficial ROM, so perhaps re-installing another will help. Or even the same one. HTCGeeks has a lot of ROMS - as long as you get a machine-specific one you should be ok. And I'm sure that others here may have some more immediate advice too...

In your settings do you have an icon that is labeled "clear Storage", this is the equivalent of a hard reset, which should reset the ROM to it's original state. Something like the image below. Make sure you remove the storage cards before you do this. That being said, there aren't a lot of stable 6.5.x.x for the x50v or x51v. Both Axims are underpowered for the ROM. My HD2 has a 1 GHz processor, and 576Mb of ram, and still some things hang.

Nope..I don't have a "Clear Storage" icon. In fact, It's missing many icons like: Picture/video, clear storage,Internet explorer.
I tried to install an Opera mini cab file using active sync, but nothing installs.
The wireless works and my gmail comes thru on the Today screen and I can reply on email.
Basically, I have no browser capabilities and nothing will install using Active Sync(4.5)

Definitely a problem there. only thing to do is to reinstall a new ROM, using the boot loader method. Links to some ROMs at this link I think I would go for WM6.1 rather than 6.5.
