Axim X50v screen displays interference pattern

The screen on my Axim recently started displaying this interface. Even on reset, it immediately displays the lines on the Dell bootup screen.

Soft nor Hard Reset helped.

The device does work otherwise.

Axim is running WM5 (for years). Used mostly for IGO8 gps nav.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Could be a loose connection, especially if you've been using it in the car for a long time for GPS. Could be just wearing out, but that's not likely, very sturdy units. Might be worth cracking the case if you are confident, otherwise a good repair company

There was a note I had somewhere about that exact thing. Let me find it and I will post later tonight.....got to go through my old computer repair desk.

I have the exact same screen problem on an X51V. So, I too have been looking for a solution. I tried cleaning cables, but it didn't seem to help.

I replaced the LCD screen, with one that I bought on eBay for $25. Now Axim X51V works great and the new screen is clearer and brighter than when I bought it (refurbished).

I did take the Axim apart to be able to pull out and reseat two screen connectors. When put back together, there was no difference.

I too, took out and unplugged the two screens with no change in results. Once I bought and replaced the two screens, everything worked! Colors are even Bolder too!

Thanks, I see several available on EBay for about $30 so I will check with the seller if he agrees it will solve my issue.
