Moving Programs From Program Folder to SD CArd
I'm in the process of freeing up some of the onboard memory from programs that are stored in RAM to the SD card, however I also want them to be accessible so that I can use them with the shortcut buttons. I've looked around for a while on the device and I cant seem to figure out in which folder to put the shortcut, or how to get my above mentioned scenario to work. It seems that if I move the programs to the SD card they don't show up, when I try to assign them to a specific button. Can anyone offer any help on this? Thanks in advance.

Yeah with an installer it works fine, when I save it to the sd card, but I'm having problems with programs that use cab files, even if I store the cab file on the sd card, it unpacks itself into the RAM on the device and I couldn't figure out how to get those files to be recognized by the shortcut buttons if I moved it to the sd card..they follow the scenario that I mentioned above..thanks I was figuring on trying to find a 3rd party app to help me out maybe one beside pocket mechanic..

Google cab install v1.04, freeware that aids cab installation to different directories on the PPC.

Hey, thanks for the cab program link seems like a pretty cool little program. I found out there isnt a specific folder for my situation, once I moved a program to the sd card I just had to recreate the shortcut in the windows/start menu/programs folder, it uses the same folder for the application buttons as for opening up an application in the programs.
Once I moved the old programs in the programs folder to the sd card I wasn't sure where to put the shortcut link so that I could open them up with the application buttons, and if they were moved to the sd card there was no way to assign the program to a button bc it wasn't anywhere on the device, when all I had to do was rewrite the shortcut length in the windows/start menu/programs folder.
It was a dumb problem but now I went from 26 megs to 42 give or take definately worth the headache imo. Thanks again.
