Help connecting to internet, please

I have an Axim X5 400, with 2003 installed. I bought Symbol LA-4137 CF wifi card, which came with a CD, but the drivers are for 2002. I have tried everything I can think of and I do not know how to connect. I have Verizon Fios internet with a D-Link Airplus Xtreme G wireless router. When I go to connections on the pda, it keeps asking for the phone number for my ISP, but we don't have one since it's a broadband connection. I would be very grateful for any help. Cindy

I notice that you have a b card and a g router. You should set the router to broadcast in b or b+g (mixed) mode. The drivers should work for 2003 if made for 2002 but you might need to downgrade to ROM A04 to make it work if the drivers only work in 2K2. You also may need to change your Axim network connection settings to not be dialing out.

Thank you. I did actually log onto the router and check to be sure that the settings were not for g only. How do you change the settings so as not to ask for the ISP phone number? Are there tutorials anywhere to help with any of this? Thank you very much for writing back, I tried the last two days and still have not been able to connect. Every time I open the wireless connections it does not recognize the card, and it always reverts to this card connects to work, not the internet. I change it every time, but it goes back. Cindy

My suggestion is to try hard resetting and installing only the card software to see if it will in fact work with 2003. If it still doesn't work you're going to need to downgrade to 2002 (A04).

After hard resetting you can reinstall your other programs en masse. Make sure you install the programs you want in main memory in one installation session (check only the apps you want in main memory in the add/remove) and then all the apps you want on the storage card in another installation session because PPC2002/2003 only allow you to choose the install location in ActiveSync on the host computer.
