Notes error message; sync problem

Cannot exit Notes nor sync with MS Outlook due to problem with one file. Error message reads Enter a unique name that does not contain \ /:*?"<>l.. Name on file never had one of these characters, and program rejects all attempts to re-name. File can be deleted if I can ever get out of this loop. File on MS Outlook desktop has since been deleted.

What file are you getting this error on? Is it on the host PC or the Axim? What file did you delete from Outlook? If a file cannot be renamed it usually means that the file is in use by a program. More information is needed to troubleshoot.

The MS Outlook file in Notes is named can I share. The error message appears on the Axim, but shows up as an item that cannot be resolved during the ActiveSync process on the PC. It is a 3.37k .pwi file. Error screen asks to Rename/Move and prompts for name, folder and location. I have since deleted the file on the PC, but the issue is still reported as an unresolved item.

Try deleting your ActiveSync profile on the PC in the ActiveSync File menu and then allowing it to recreate another profile. It might clear out the errant file request.

could it be the spaces in the file name? Also can you relocate the file out of axim storage to a card, just cut and paste it and retry sync? just a thought
