WM2003 upgrade for MSN Messenger?

Everything about my WM2003 install works nearly flawlessly on my Axim X5. But MSN Messenger fails to initialize.

Logon to MSN Messenger Service failed because the service is not responding. Please try again later.

Has there been a patch or upgrade released to bring the MSN Messenger component of WM2003 up to current MSN protocols?

I don't see anything like that ANYWHERE on my Axim X5 running Windows Mobile 2003

Every source I find says there's an update out there. Problem is, they all link back to Microsoft's "Windows Mobile" page, which back in 2003 surely had a big splash screen announcing the "important security update" for the WM2003 Messenger client.

in 2007 however, that page is an advertisement for Windows Mobile 6.

Sorry, I think I sent you to a desktop version MSN support page. This site is regarding PPCs and suggests changing your regional settings to get it to connect. Quite a few people say it worked for them... How about you?

I had a link to the update in another post here to microsoft's spanish site and I just checked it, POOF, page does not exist anymore!!

IE on 2002ppc

You could try MS support ? but that's not much help!
