Why does my True Moble 1180 CF Card only have 4 operating channels?

I have been completly unsuccessful in figuring this one out. It appears that my CF wifi card only has 4 operating channels that I can switch between. But upon searching I found I should have 11.

And if the router sends out the signal in anything other than channel 1 - 4 I get the "unable to load page" error.

I discovered that it happens only when the router is on those channels because I once had my office change the channel from 6 to 1 and my wifi worked.

Using Ministumbler I can see and connect to any signal out there, but if the channel is not 1 then I get that "unable to load page" error, even though it's connected.

My OS is PPC 2003 (A5) and I have the latest Truemoble 1180 driver.

Through all my searches I have never come across anyone else with this problem. Sure I have seen people with the same error message but other than the standard reinstall drivers or soft reset. No one seems to know exactly why that error comes up.

Any Thoughts?

I used to have an 1180 card that I used with my X5. I had to give it to a friend as penance for picking him up with the help of a couple other people and throwing him into a swimming pool while his phone was in his pocket. Anyways, it connected to channel 6 at my house. Have you tried reinstalling the TrueMobile software or hard resetting? It should work. If it doesn't, you may have a faulty card.

After doing more and more digging it appears that I think I am connecting to high channels? But I wonder with it will only load a webpage when I am on Channel 1. Could it also be that the signal strength is not high enough? because they are such a weak card?

The channel problem could be due to localized interference, have you tried connecting to other wifi locations on higher channels? Have you tried updating/reinstalling the TM software?
