Axim X5 and SDIO wifi card 802.11 b/g

Can anyone tell me if this card is supported in this model X5.

Have installed card and drivers, card is recognized but does not allow me to profile the adpater to find my wireless network. My laptop hooks up fine to the wireless but the X5 shows nothing. Dell really can't seem to answer and certain write-ups states supported and other won't say for sure.

Regards X5 user.

Welcome to AximUsers ipaq/X5 user.

First, make sure your X5 has A04 or A05 as its ROM version. If you are at A04 make sure the card supports Pocket PC 2002. Next, check your router's ROM version against the latest from the manufacturer's site. Then check that you have the latest software and drivers from the manufacturer of the card. What make and model card is it? Let us know how it works out.

rom version is Ao5(07170300En)
Windows Pocket PC Version 4.20.1081(build 13100)
Router is at latest level.
Drivers etc for the adapter are at latest according to seller
Have tried removing driver and software and re-installing but to no avail.
Adapter is recognized but finds no sites and doesn't allow
me to add a site.

Am taking Axim to a different site with wireless router to see if it is recognized.

I should have noticed this in the first post.

The X5 does NOT have an SDIO slot, only the CF slot can accomodate a wifi card on that model.

Sorry to have missed that detail from the start!

Damn!

I wish I had seen this post before I ordered my WiFi card!!!

I've just received delivery of a PlusCom SDIO-11 wireless card and it looks like it's useless.

That is VERY annoying for such an otherwise well spec PDA.
