X5 doesn't recognise large file on SD card
I downloaded Wikipedia and copied the file onto a 2GB SDcard. The file (WP_EN.TR3)(1863MB)shows on the pda but when I try to open it, I get the following message: "The file you are trying to open seems to be corrupted. If you have download this file from the Internet, please re-download the file and try again". I did that, same result, I opened the file on the sdcard with my desktop, worked perfectly! I reformated the 2GB card and put some smaller file on it, my X5 was happy with this. So I recopied yet again and tried everything, including soft and hard reset, contacting TomeRaider (they had no clue). Could anyone help? By the way, all files involved are TomeRaider3 files, I have TR3 registered on my X5 (Win2003). Merci!

check if files are compatible with Win 2003, they may not be. Be aware that you may have downloaded the web page with link and not the specified file.

Thankyou now we're on the same page, I'll ask you some questions.
Where on ax did you install tomeraider?
Have you used the program for long?
Have you had a look at this support site?
http://www.yadabyte.com/TR3_manual/tr3_manual.htm
Common sense tells me that you have saved the file somwhere where tome raider is not looking for it and that some how you need to "import" and then save the file where you want it, TR3needs to know where to find the file to read it.
HTH.

This is becoming quite interesting...lol...I have been using TR3 for about 6 months , just about since I acquired my X5. I have had no problems with the program and the associated files. I usually copy the TR3 files on a sd card, obviously I cannot copy the file in the X5 ram. TR3 program is installed in the program folder. The program certainly has no problem finding all the files. (If you insert a new sd card, it helps to exit TR3 and start it again to refresh with the new list of files) TR3 just cannot open Wikipedia. Here's is what I have done to correct the problem: Re downloaded Wikipedia from the web, Copied it on a different 2gb sd card, reformatted the cards with Flash Format, made sure I have ROM version A05(07170300N), made sure that the correct memory is read by X5: Total storage card memory: 1936.47MB In use: 1157.21MB Free: 779.26MB. I installed TR3 on my desktop and ran Wikipedia from the sd card successfully. I did look at the website, but I found nothing of help! Up for a good challenge anyone?

I wish I was the bringer of good news but I'm not. If you have run this program for a long time with no probs, then test it and make sure everything that was there before still worx. If it does then there is probably a corruption in the wikipedia file? if it doesn't there may be a conflict between apps you are running? If you can't find anything you might want to try a hard reset and reinstall [NOOOOOOO]

I know that the file is not corrupted, I have done the checksum after a new download and also it runs properly on my desktop computer. Everything else works fine in the little grey box. I will try the hard reset(NNNNOOOOO!!!!!), but as a very last resort! In the meantime I will try to find another large (> 1gb) file to download, see how that goes!!! Thank you for trying, I will let you know how it all goes.

Cool I'm very interested, have you been to tomeraider support? can you getonline email /or phone support, I would think to ask how large a file tomeraider will support, there may be a limit. GL
