Tomtom 6 Maps Not found

I have an AXIM X5 and have recently purchased Tomtom6 on an SD Card (I previouisly had Tomtom2 on a Storage Card which worked well). I have installed the software but after going through the initial preferences section there are no voices and an message 'no maps found'

I have raised a support call with Tomtom but after a week have had no answer.

Solving the voices is a simple problem, Just copy the entire Voices directory from the SD card to the Voices directory on your PDA. Located under Program Files > Navigator.

Regarding not finding maps. This is the 3rd time I have seen this reported. Please PM me with your private email address and I will send you a winrar file that you should copy to blank card (5MB) and install TomTom from this , then the maps will be found. This must be a private email address as most company servers will block downloads with exe files etc.

I will need to check that you have a legit version as it against the site rules to support illegal software plus almost impossible to identify why an illegal version does not work

If you have contacted TomTom, well apart from a long wait, the responce will be that they cannot support you as they have only tested tomtom 6 with an X51.

I am very pleased to say that Drifter fixed the problem and my Tomtom6 software is working fine.

I think I might be in the same boat.... Apparently, the installation is directing the Navigator software to search in the wrong place (internal memory), rather than the SD card..... I have TT6 working on my 2210 without flaw (minus screen rotate which isn't available on Windows 2002

) but the X5 is causing me much constrenation...... Is the fix that Drifter offers a permanent one or does it require repeat installation each time of use...?

ETA: I have the Guam map working from the system memory, but haven't sussed how to redirect the X5 to look at the storage card for further maps.......

The fix is perminant unless you hard reset, but i will only help if I am sure people have a legitemate copy and not an illegal download. Anyone else I have helped, please also act in the same way.

i bought tomtom 6 download from tomtoms map store and have tried to install it through tomtom home. when i reboot my x5 to install the program it runs ok until it cant find any voices and wants me to install them from cd or download them from the internet. the next time i run tomtom it cant find my maps. any help would be greatly appreciated

I am having the same problem, Tomtom6 cannot find the maps or voices on my X5. Grateful for that winrar fix please.

Hi, See my PM to you requesting you to validate that you have a legal copy of TomTom 6. Happy to assist if you are legal.

I am sure that you understand that this forum does not support illegal software for many reasons.

Sorry Xterminatorman, if you purchased the x5 with TomTom 6 preinstalled it is an illegal copy and Aximusers cannot support you with this.
