As so many others before me in this and other threads I bought a legal copy of Navigator 6 and ran into the 'No Maps Found' problem after the installation. An hour on the phone with TomTom today (most of it waiting in queue) brought the aforementioned result of 'Device is not supported by TomTom'.
Imagine my delight when I was browsing this thread and found that there is a solution that Drifter has offered to legal users of the software in form of a winrar file. Is that file still available? I would be very thankful for any help I can get.

Get Total Commander:

• Go to \\\registry\HKLM\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\PS M
• Open the key "Dll" by "double-tapping" the file
• Change its 'String value' to "PSMFSD.dll.xxx" and press OK
• Close Total Commander

Soft reset your device and the BIS has 'disappeared'. Now start TomTom and everything works as it should.

I have tried it yesterday and it works fine. You need to edit the Registry of the Axim X5. Get Total Commander from

Download file tcmdpocketarm, and run it on your PC. This will install it on your PDA. The program does not come with an instruction manual, but it's easy to operate. Double-click the Total Commander icon in the Axim's Programs folder. The initial screen shows a list of folders, and the top folder is '\\'. Open this folder and follow Carlob's instructions above.
Keep in mind that editing the Registry could be potentially dangerous to the health of your PDA. Do not make any other changes than the one described by Carlob.

Thanks GoodGerman, I'm not sure where Drifter (who was sending the fix to verified TomTom purchasers here) went. I sent him a couple of emails but haven't heard back. Hopefully someone here tries your method and reports back whether it works.

Guess what guys, I'm back and available for the fix if anyone wants it AND they have a legal version of TomTom 6.

Axim users WILL NOT support illegal software and I will be asking validation questions.
