Disable your BIS: works great!

I'm waiting for the solution by 'Drifter'. Meanwhile I have disabled the "Build In Storage". In all those years I've never used the BIS so I won't miss it...

Get Total Commander:
  • Go to \\\registry\HKLM\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\PS M
  • Open the key "Dll" by "double-tapping" the file
  • Change its 'String value' to "PSMFSD.dll.xxx" and press OK
  • Close Total Commander

Soft reset your device and the BIS has 'disappeared'. Now start TomTom and everything works as it should.

(I've installed TomTom directly on my device and the maps on a SD-card...)

Tt Nav 6

Hi
Just discovered your brilliant site.
Have spent some time, backwards and forwards, with Tomtom.com on X5 compatability, at last got an answer ( but not the one I asked ) .
Got these results by means which I could post by PM to Drifter ( to prevent overload ) and have just asked them about S.x. x ( no answer yet )
I digress, I am old and thick ( at times ) have found a good cheap source for NAV 6 on SD ( legal) ( £74 approx incl pp) so if I buy it it can an old thicky get it to run ( with out having to ask too many time consuming questions, mainly cause I work away a lot and can't remember 5 min ago let alone breakfast ) ????
Cheers
Jericlin

Sorry for delays in answering

Happy new year.

Sorry about any delays in answering posts and PM's but we all need holidays.

Anyone needing the files to get TomTom 6 working on an x5 WITHOUT having to hack any registry entries, please PM me now and once I am convinced you have a legal copy I will send the files.

NOTE. YOU MUST HAVE A LEGAL COPY and have a licence certificate, I will be asking a validation question... Note also that when you install my fix, you will need to activate via ttcode.com.. Illegal versions will not work. I assure you.

Happy New Year

"Tomtom.com do not say that NAV6 and Axim X5 are not compatible just not tested for compatability !"

After several messages to and from TT customer services they admit that Nav 6 and AXim X5 have not been tested for compatability by their Test Team and they can't say if they will ever test it to see if it will become compatible ( what an odd notion, surely it is either compatible now or it is incompatible now) and we all know Drifters answer to that !!!!!!!!!! so come pay day Pucka Nav 6 will be ordered on SD, Drifters help enlisted and I can rejoin the unlost.

Cheers

Jericlin

Same as the other people here the navigator 6 programma did not see my maps, so i discovered this site by searching on google.
I already tried the reg hack, and it works fine, but i would like tot try the solution that drifter has, so ik can still use the system memory.
I already sent drifter a pm, so i hope i won't have to return the tomtom package to my dealer
