Main Battery power short

Every now and then I get a message on my Axim that the main battery has lost power. Sometimes the Axim will automatically do a soft reset after this. When I check the main battery power after this happens, it is fine..usually 90 percent or higher. What is going on...I'm afraid the thing is going to crash and I'll lose all my info.

Now is a good time to back up you x5, before you loose all power and data.


How old is your main battery ??. and is it a copy battery or an original ?.it might be that a new main battery is required. ( some copy batteries fail quicker than originals)

This is not a problem I have seen before, but their are a few things to try.

1) Back up your data now
2) Remove the main battery and clean the contacts on the battery. The rubber at the end of a pencil is good for this.
3) With the main battery out, use a paper clip or similar and make a small hook , CAREFULLY hook one of the gold contacts that you see in the battery compartment and slightly pull it towards you so that the contact is stronger . Repeat so that all 4 contacts are adjusted.
4) Hard reset your x5 (remove all cards. Press and hold power, scroll in , contacts and reset. After 3 secs release power and reset. Hold the others for 10 secs). This will "reaload" the ROM and put your axim back to as supplied condition.
5) restore your axim from the back up.
