It could be that the main battery is very very low in power.
Remove the main battery and back up battery. Wait approx 1 hr and then plug in the mains adapter only.
Press the power on button, hopefully this has forced a hard reset and your screen should start asking for re alignment.
If this works, then you will need first to buy a new back up battery. Install the main battery again and put on charge until the light turns green or at least for 4 hours charge. Hopefully this will have kickstarted the main battery into life again.
If their is no life after this, but the unit works on mains, then I am afraid you need a new main battery. These do not last forever and will deteriorate by not holding charge. If this happens it can be that the mains adapter no lonegr can supply enough power to charge and operate the axim at the same time.
I hope you succeed in getting it restarted, you should be able to

hi,
i am sorry to hear that you have trouble with you axim.
i remember that i had some problems once in a while with turning it off and afterwards back on again.
it helped to push the reset button.
if your unit turns out to be broken, just let me know.
i have a fully working motherboard for sale.
its a 300 MHz 32 MB version.
cheers
alex
