Axim x5 wont turn on after OS reinstall

:angry: i had to reinstall my OS ,ppc2003, after the blue screen wouldnt go away. Now i cant even turn it on. i had to reinstalled the OS once before and it worked fine, but now it doesn turn on. when the ac adapter is pluged in the little light on the power button doesnt even turn on. ive rechared the battery. asked dells tech souport and they answer a tottaly differnt question. please help i cant afford to spend $200 to replace because my warenty exppired lat month. :angry:

Try taking out both batteries and leaving them out for about 30 minutes, then try restarting.

Hev you tried a hard reset ??. If not try that also

You say that the light does not come on, but the battery is charged . How do you know the battery is charged ???

Does the Dell logo come on when the unit is in the cradle ??

Could be that the main battery is dead or empty, in which case you will not get it switching on.

Try switching on with the charger plugged directly into the PDA.

i know the battery is charged b/c i charged it in the back of the cradle and i also used the battery from my dads axim x5 the light does not even come on when the AC adapter is in.

ive tried ,full hard reset ,soft reset, and the bootloader thing and it still does not even turn on :angry:

Sounds like its totally dead. You could get it repaired or sell it off for spares

The same thing happened to mine, I had to buy a new one.
But try one last thing...remove both batteries and let the Axim sit for a day, then try to turn it on again.


I have heard of this problem a few times on this site, maybe we should contact the Better Business Bureau.
