And due to this behaviour of the backup battery being low
or something else, its touch screen with stylus is not recongized by the operating system.
Even it happened a number of times that I pressed stylus on the top of the screen and the response came from bottom of the screen.
I could not resolve this problem.
It is also strange why the backup battery goes down where as the main battery is full.
I have done a number of options for this but all in vain.
1. replaced back up battery.
2. uninstalled some storage/memory occupying occupying softwares.
3. soft reset a number of times.
4. removed its screen protector.
5. at last I did hard reset
and after hard reset ... now I am stuck with the situation that it is not passing the screen alignment test to go ahead.
Can any one solve this problem and tell me what is the actuall problem with my PDA or is there some known issue with the X5.
The configuration of my PDA is 300 MHz and 32 MB RAM and 128 MB SanDisk SD Card
same thing happened to me, i also ended up purchasing a refurb

do not twist screen!!!! But there is a similar problem with the screen though. and i think i just fixed mine. Restoring my info now. There's a little mylar strip that connects the screen to the motherboard (internally). The design of case allows for the inbox or home buttons on the front of x5 to rub against this strip. hence shorting out the connection and screwing up the screen taps. Put a piece of electrical tape over the mylar strip. Problem solved.
The true questions is how long have you had your unit. If it's past a year then this is your problem. If not a year, you may want to realign the stylus points.
If you do choose to go through with this, it doesn't hurt to use a air duster to clean out the unit since you have it apart already. Heck why not even do a quick wipe of screen to clean it and put a protector on it.
Only do this if your axim x5 is out of warrenty.
And I didn't come up with this myself. Found the info over at aximsite.com.
