Audio quality is a hard subject to judge when not using professional equipment. In this case, we are using a built-in microphone on a PDA. Definately not professional. The Axim microphone is designed to record messages, not CD quality music or anything else of the such, remember that. On the other hand I'd have to say that a good portion of the quality is due to user operation. If you hold the PDA so close to your mouth the odd passer-by is wondering if you are eating a silver object, chances are your audio isn't going ot be that clear, same goes for recording across the room. I recomend that you hold the Axim at a distance you would normally use it from, as if you were writing on it. This will give you some of the best results. Of course people vary, as do their voices and you will need to do some of your own experimenting. Just remember that if you can understand the words that are being spoken in the recording, the microphone and PDA are doing their jobs. Don't expect too much, you didn't buy a recording studio.
