Perfomance Comparison: Dell Axim X5 / Compaq H3955

Here is a performance comparison between the Dell Axim X5 Advance and Compaq iPaq H3955. Both devices are running the Intel Xscale Processor 400 Mhz, and have 64 MB of RAM.

I've used VOBenchmark version 3.0 By Virtual Office Systems to gather the numbers for the performance and figures, and the test was run 3 times.

What does it say when there is such a large difference between recorded values?

The major differences are in the graphics area. The devices have different graphics chipsets, right?

The H3900 series uses a MediaQ graphics chip set that was smoked by the Toshiba e740; thanks largely in part of ATI Imageon graphics chip set. When it came to gaming, the e740 was somewhat slow.

I think the Axim uses a newer MeqiaQ graphics chipset.

The fact that some of those results are exponentially different (89.8 to 6.9!) for the two devices suggests that the benchmark isn't testing the right things or in the right way.
