Syncing with MS Outlook Calendar - Categry Problem

I just got my Axim X5 2 weeks ago. I use it at work and want to have personal calendar events on the handheld only. When I sync with MS Outlook at work, Activesync overwrites the handheld from the desktop which is what I want, but erases my personal events on the handheld.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have "Syncronize all" checked in activesync on your desktop?

That might be the problem.

Let me know if that worked or not and we will go from there.

No, ALL is not selcted. In the: "Synchronize only those appointments in the following selected categories" where I have <No Category> and Personal both check marked.

My goal is to have my personal stuff stay on the hand held and not be synced to the work PC.

It sounds to me like you need to UNCHECK the personal catagories box and your desktop should leave them alone.

I tried that two weeks ago, but did again just now. Because it is set up that the PC overrides the Hand held, it erases any event not on the PC. It is driving me nuts. Why do they have the categories and select boxes if they don't work, well, easily anyway?

Sorry, additional frustration setting in the more I mess with it. It is the biggest "need to have" for me right now but not the end of the world.

I cannot replicate the problem with mine. Sorry I could not help you further. It sounds like you will have to have your it/s department take a look at it as it seems they have a setting on the desktop that is causing this to happen.

Please, if you get your problem solved, post here and let us know what was done to correct it. (that way we will have an answer for the next guy/gal that needs it)
