I wanted to start with a clean install of Active Sync 3.7 from 3.5. It is not clear to me that 3.5 was properly removed and now I cannot figure out how to remove Active Sync from system (Windows ME). What are the directories that need to be removed and is there any Windows registry lines that need to be changed?

Thanks

There is excellent information found here: http://www.cewindows.net/wce/activesync3.1remove.htm

Chris De Herrera has excellent information in regards to PocketPC!

If you do install clean with 3.7, you may need to install this driver from Dell.

It is the USB driver for your computer to recognize the Axim. It is included on your 3.5 ActiveSync disk you received from Dell.

I know that some people still have issues w/this. Sometimes I cant get my ax to connect unless I drop it in the cradle a few times. I wonder if I never installed that driver. Could that be possible?

I have a slightly different problem - when the Ax is in the cradle, it occasionally goes to a "not connected" status - power-cycling the device reestablishes the connection - anyone else seen this?

Without that driver, I believe that you would NEVER be able to connect.

What you are experiencing sounds like a completely different problem.

Ya, I figured as much. I wish I could figure out what was causing it. I think a lot of people have the same problem. If there was only a fix.....

I'm using Windows XP with Active Sync 3.7 and it seems to work. I just installed it right over Active Sync 3.5 It seems to connect everytime.

Argh, me too!
What gives, it doesn't matter if
I click the "stay connected" button
or not.

Does your handshake screen at the
begining of ActiveSync take forever?

I've had a 2002 and 2003 systems
and ActiveSync is still twitchy.
