AC Adapter For Axim 300mhz

My question is about Axims shipped from Dell Canada.

Does the Axim ship with an AC adapter?

On the Canadian website there is no mention at all of an AC adapter. You are not given the option of buying one on the site and there is no mention that one ships with the Axim.

The description of the USB cradle does not show a power connection cable of any type, just the USB cable and connector. Yet the Getting Started manual which I read online, clearly shows an AC adaptor. I don't know if I have to order one separately from Dell or is it included in the box.

It is hard to imagine that they would ship something with a rechargeable battery and not include a power source connector.

If an AC adapter is not included, then paying extra for both the cradle and a separate power cord as well as for delivery, takes away a big chunk of the "bargain" aspect of the Axim's price.

All Pocket PCs comes with AC Adapter.

The 300 comes with a usb sync cable that goes to the 40 pin socket on the bottom. It also comes with a seperate AC power supply that plugs into the round socket on the bottom and will charge and power the Axim while plugged in.

The 400 has a cradle with a usb cable attached. It also has an ac adaper exactally the same one as the 300 but it plugs into the back of the cradle. The cradle now supplies the power to the Axim via the 40 pin socket rather than the round power connector.
The ac adapter can be unplugged from the cradle and used like the 300 for power/charge if you want to take it and not the cradle.
If you order the $29 Cdn. optional cradle you will get the same setup as the 400. ie they swap the cable for a cradle.
If you later order a cradle it does not come with a power supply.

Does the Axim take trickle charge from the PC when it is just connected via the USB cable alone?

No, although they use that connector for power in the cradle it is not wired back to the PC. Also no power via USB with cable alone.
