I have been able to sync now for a week or more on this PC, and today when I try to sync it goes like this. Connection to PPC is made, checks for changes, begins sync, gets part way thru inbox sync and stops with no error message. ActiveSync displays "Not Connected" Must disconnect PPC, reconnect, repeats the same failed sequence as above. Tried all available online support (Which is not much as all of the sites ActiveSync has listed in the Help file are invalid IPs) to no avail. I have rebooted PC, reset PPC, reloaded ActiveSync, deleted and reentered Partnerships all multiple times. Nothing is different from yesterday when everything worked. Any ideas?

Oh, and somehow after another failed attempt, ActiveSync defaulted to "Guest" partnership???

Seems the problem is with attempting to sync with inbox. I will try resetting to minimum inbox sync and try again. That did not work either. It gets about 10 messages to sync then reports disconnection.

Are you possibly having it get large file attachments? I left my INBOX sync at default, and I don't have problems.
What happens with my syncing, is it will go through and look for changes, then it'll do an initial sync, leaving some items unresolved in calendar, inbox, notes, and then it'll go through and sync again, resolving those items on its own.

Yes, I did try to up my options as I need to have some historical email ability with me. But even trimming down the options after that did not seem to help. Where I ended up as a result of trying everything on the sites was that when I got home last night I had an empty Axim. No contacts, no email, no calender, nothing. So I pulled out the laptop I sync to and it still had all the info. I thought, great, I will just sync to the laptop and restore everything. To make a long story short, the sync replaced the full PIM with the empty one off the Axim (sort of backwards huh?) I was really stressing by this point. Luckily, it sent all the data it erased to the Outlook deleted items file. In order to restore everything to it's original location, I had to drag each item to it's original location (No "Undelete All" option). Now before I try it again, I would like to know how to ensure that the data on the Axim will be replaced by the data in the PIM and not the other way around. So far no luck finding the setting or any discussion of this. Any ideas? I have a trip tuesday I need to be ready for!!!

Aaron, under ActiveSync's properties, in the Rules Tab, under conflicts, you might want to reevaluate how you have the conflicts set up.
Under Desktop, mine is set to the default, which is leave the item unresolved.
Under Server, mine is set to always replace the item on my device.

I found I couldn't sync via a USB hub, if I plug it directly into a usb port on the back (front on mine) of my PC, its fine.

I can't believe all these issues people are having syncing. I sure hope the X3 and X7 don't have these problems.

I finally set aside a couple hours and called Dell. First I talked to Non-OS software group about Activesync. They transferred me to Hardware group who I spent 1.5 hours with to no avail. There recommendation was that I load service pack 3 for the Win2000 desktop. Did that, no change. I have a case number with Dell, so the next time I can spend a couple hours I will call them back to let them know it did not work.
