Intel Xscale 300Mhz and 400Mhz

I heard that pocket pc which has the 300 mhz or 200Mhz are about the same speed as the 400Mhz. Is the Axim 300Mhz as fast as the 400Mhz advensed Axim?

That if you have the latest processor (PXA255). The new processor has 200 MHz bus speed while the older one only has 100MHz.

Huh?..... you mean that a PXA250 built Pocket pc is slower 100Mhz then a PXA255?

No, the PXA255 chips have 200MHz front side bus. PXA250 chips have a 100MHz front side bus. In reality, a 300MHz Axim with the PXA255 will be slightly faster than a 400MHz with the PXA250.

Dell.com just posted 10% off all handhelds and accessories.
I was struggling between purchasing an axim advanced or basic refurbished. Looks like you can now get a new axim for just a couple bucks more than a refurbished. I gather from your reply that a new 300mhz basic would suffice. And, I plan to upgrade to 256 of memory, so no issue there. Input?
