:angry: Dell is starting to make me very mad. After being on hold for about and hour and a half I got connected. The guy was from India or something and i couldnt understand him. Dont get me wrong i dont have anything wrong with people from there, its just i couldnt understand him and after about 8 tries of hi trying to figure out what my service tag is I finally hung up. Does dEll have any american support people? I never have had one.

What number are you calling? My Axim died today and I have been trying to get through all day and all I get is voice recording. I have to get them to send me a new unit. Please give me #.

Try 888-973-3355 its the main one but has worked for me...I have a better one at work and will try to put it on tomorrow morning.

Dell's support used to be TOP NOTCH a few years back. Now, with this being my first Dell experience in a number of years, I'm very upset by their customer support.

B) yes you will get somone from india at least for the axim , the express service code is under the battery. Ha! be sure to have them put in the box the return lables or you will sit there wondering how to send it back! meanwhile they will send you another invoice for the defective one. I have never had to wait more than a minute or two to talk to the indian fellow. on the power button remember one click is for off/ hold for dim. Its in the manual. look on the packing slip for the phone number to call for service

A great number of companies switched their "customer service" call centers to India years ago. Cheaper labor, English speaking and it matches the heaviest load times (i.e. it's 8:00 pm here when we all call and GMT+10 or so in New Deli).

Yeah, when i bought my first PC (a Dell in 98) Customer service was EXCELLENT! I did get a few people i coulndt understand, but for the most part it was great. Now you have rediculous wait times, then yes, you get the person who cant even speak english. I had a yelling match one time with one..... i won cause he ran out of english words. :P

ok i must share my experiance now . I myself am indian. I called up CS and wanted to know status of my order as on the site it NEVER CHANGED just kept saying it is being BUILT nothing new for past 6 days. I got a indian fellow and it was damn obvious he was indian by the accent. I myself was born here in arizona so i have no accent, i have more of a mexican accent but anyways. I was getting annoyed so all of sudden i started talking in Hindi which is the common language in india, and the guy u can basically tell got all happy and started talking back in hindi and all that. Well in conclusion, i got next day air out of him, a extra dell battery, and a sync cable all for NOTHING. We even started chatting about the weather and shit in india lol, but it got me what i wanted, an UPDATE on my status and some extras
