    New to axim x5

i just received my axim x5. very nice unit. i am still learning all of the things it can do. can anyone give me instructions on how to do the following:
    1. how to use the sd card (i would like to transfer a few of my window media files which have my movies and songs.
    2. if the windows media for vista is non compatible then what program can i download to my axim so that i can view media.
    3. i ordered a wifi compact card from ebay and hopefully i will be able to go into my internet system. Is there anything i should expect, such as the unit not being able to read the card or other issues?

any help from you knowledgeable individuals would be greatly appreciated.

thank you in case someone wants to email the info. my email address is paganson2001@gmail.com

hi, and welcome, i will try and answer your questions,
no 2--you will need to down load ''windows mobile device centre'' free download from MS, that will work with your axim and vista,(Download details: Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6 for Windows Vista (32-bit))
no 3--the wifi card are easy to install, it should come with driver and instructions, if you get any trouble then ask and we will try and help, when i got mine from ebay i had to download a second file direct from the manufactors web site, (free) but now works great.
no 1--you can only use upto a max of 2gb sd card, you can download a driver to use 4gb sdhc card (see my thread, ''sdhc patch''), I only use my sdhc card for music and ebooks, and a FC card for movies, (see thread ''CF card), when you first use a sd card for music though the WM player to you need to sync the library,
load music files onto sd card
when sd card in axim, go to WMP and open library (menu button),click on sd card/my music, hold pen on all music and second drop down box will open, click ''queue up'', then back to menu button, click ''update library'' this will ask you if you would like to update library, click yes, it will copy all you files into the library, (but NOT onto axim),once that is done, just load your sd card into the axim and play music though you WMP, i adjust the volumn to max on axim, but do small adjustments on the WMP control, and use headphones,
    i have a 4gbSDHC card with 300 + songs, 2 ebooks and not 1/2 full.
    hope this helps.

mr F.Tifino, i think your mum should have said something about manners, if the member buys a axim, then asking questions on a site specific for that unit makes sense, why should he look somewhere else,

hi, and welcome, i got a cheap sd wifi card from ebay and it would not work after many hours and several cups of tea, i sent it back and paid £20 for one and it works fine, what you buy is down to your budget, but be warned that some times buying the cheapest is not always money saving.. I got one that is B/G band and it seems to work everywhere i go. check that you get the cd driver with it and the name of the manufactors web site in case you need to contact them. But before you buy anything does your model have built in wifi, hope this helps
