I should identify this with a HELP(!)

Has anyone had this happen to them? and how do I fix it? or what the heck happened?

I came back from a meeting and placed my axim in the cradle, it initally tried to sync, which it always does but this time I recieved an error saying it was unable to make a connection. Then I noticed the backdrop light is off when I place the axim in the cradle but when I take the axim out the light comes back on in use. what is going on here? I unplugged the usb port and plugged it back in and nothing happens this time, and I still get no light on the axim when it is placed in the cradle. Please help, any suggestions would be great! I just got my axim last week and it has been working wonderfully and I love my new toy!

I'm assuming it's the cradle since my axim seems to work as it usually does. Only problem is that the cradle isn't responding to the usb port or my axim. (Yes the power cord is plugged in and I even the Dell blue light is lit when plugged in) are there troubleshooting fix-its I can run? I'm not a complete computer savy but do understand how to get around things if given some hints.

thanks!

Have you attempted a Soft Reset of the Axim?

Try that, then go to Start/Settings tap on the System tab then Brightness. Make sure that the Brightness on External Power is set appropriately.

Reboot your PC and then reconnect.

Well, I did a soft reset. checked the "brightness" and oddly enough that was minimized to the lowest setting, so I moved it to a brighter setting and VOILA, the light is bright when in cradle again. I rebooted my pc and connected the usb port and nothing happened. I then proceeded to double click on the activesyc icon on my pc and it started to connect but then oddly enough again, my screen light went very dim again??? so I went back into the settings and had to change it to maximum setting again and I am now sync'd. I proceeded to take the axim out of the cradle and then placed it back on and it sync'd up!

isn't this weird??? what do you suppose happened? oh well, i guess it's working again, maybe it's another case of a weird anomoly.
