After updating my Axim to Rom A3 I was not able to restore my backup which I made prior to the update. Now that I installed everything I installed before I am not able to read my e-mail anymore. Everything else is after a sync. in sync exept for the e-mail. Where did I go wrong ?

Did you check the ActiveSync settings for your e-mail sync? The default is to sync only the last 5 days worth of stuff. It is also going to limit the number of lines copied to 100 and limit the size of file attachments.

See if that helps you out.

On your desktop, search for a file called SCANPST.EXE.

This is a utility that is installed by Microsoft Outlook. It will scan your PST file that contains all of your e-mails and look for any corruption. It will also try and fix it up for you. Once you scan your PST file, try and reconnect the Axim to your ActiveSync.

I would suggest backing up before running anything like this.

Thanks Duckman but scanpst couldn't find any error.

Outlook works ok on my pc...I can send and receive e-mails. The trouble is that (after the update to A03) The Axim doesn't synchronize the e-mail.

After your upgrade to A03, did you restore from a backup?

I have restored from backup before only to find that I could not sync up tasks. They did not appear in my list as available to sync. I had to break down and do a hard reset and re-install everything on my system in order to do any syncing again.

You may have to go down this path to get your e-mail sync capabilities back.

My restore went as far as 99 % then it gave an error....To my surprise most of the applications were restored.. now that you mentioned it.. this may be the fault.... I will do a hard reset and install the software by hand =... the data is on my pc so after having installed the programs it will be synced....
I'll let you know
