here is an article on home made screen protectors. it has some useful tips.
http://www.pocketpcpassion.com/General/Scr...enProtector.htm
I hope it helps. I have been using homemade SP's since I bought mine. They work great. The only time i had a problem was when a rough cut corner was pressing on the screen under the edge. I couldn't get the screen to respond.
I just put a new one on tonight. Took a minut to print, and a minute to cut.

Try applying it like a vehicle graphic spray a light coating of water on the face of your X5 (mist) don't go dipping it in the bath.
Then as Starscream says use a soft card to squeeze the water out from under the cover.
Should work

I purchased the Dell screen protectors and had the same problem, until I noticed that the folded corners should be down, not up. Since I did that.....no bubbles!

Do you guys recommend using the screen protectors? Do they impede the view of the screen?

They work really well. The screen is still bright and the peace of mind that you will not scratch your glass screen is nice. ^_^

I purchased the standard protectors from Dell. They were pretty expensive for a pack of 12, but since purchasing in January, I have only had to use 4.......about 1 a month. That translates to a fairly cheap annual cost.
Here is a link
They are a bit more ridged than the Belkin screen protectors.
