Can anyone suggest why my Axim's brightness default to dim after I turn it off sometimes?

I noticed that if I turned my unit off by holding the on/off button down too long, it would turn the screen light off before shutting down the unit. Then, next time I turned it on, the screen was dark.

Turning the unit off with only a quick press of the button seemed to solve the problem.

    Does that help at all?

Dark Emerald. That is correct. In fact that is another way to turn the back light off. The iPaq has that similar feature.
