This happened to me too. I had the sd card nearly full and then I refreshed the MAzingo news files which took it over the top one day. It happens when I fill the sd card while in the Axim, but it doesn't happen when I use the USB 6 way card reader, which is what I do now for the SD whenI update Mazingo. I monitor the fullness of the memory while in the card reader and keep it around 200 since it died twice at 220+ (240 is full). I have 2 sd cards, 256 mb and the problem happened to both, so it's not a bad card.
File transfers are faster in the card reader. BTW, if I transfer pdf's to the memory via Axim, they grow a lot through the conversion software, but if I dump them straight into memory through the card reader, they stay small and not any harder to read in the Axim. (I have lots of grahics etc. in mine)
I do have a recent problem that has no answer yet, regarding lost files. One afternoon, withou me doing anything, the Axim was connected via usb sync cable (not cradle) at my work computer and when I came back, after adding some entries, I lost both contacts and calendar. I thought it was odd, so i expected to replace them when i got home. Well, th Axim killed the contacts and calendar on my XP at home when it snyced through the cradle. I rebuilt the contacts, but the calendar was gone. I recreated a small calendar and went to work. The syncing at work did not repair the contacts or calendar files by copying from the work Outlook which was not affected ?? The calendar doesn't update at work anymore. What's going on??
I searched for people with problems like mine, but mostly they lost stuff because of power failures, or battery probs. None were like my still existing problem.
Sorry for the long post. I'm not a youngster with a short attention span.
