A05 update files

Ok,

I've located two files for upgrading my X5 to 2003. The first one:

R58550.exe containing the P25_NK_H_03050300EN.img file

and

R64635.exe containing the P25_NK_H_07170300EN.img file

Can anyone tell me the difference? From everything I've read, I believe the latter image is the correct one for my 400 Mh unit.

Secondly,
I'm wanting to upgrade because my work computer is Vista, but my home compute is XP. Are there known issues of syncing with ActiveSync (XP) after performing this upgrade?

My workaround has been to export my calendar and contacts from Outlook 2007 from work and import them into Outlook 2003 at home. Then the sync updates my Axim.

Yes, if you have the 400MHz model, P25_NK_H_07170300EN.img is the correct file.
I have Vista with Office 2003 at home, and XP with Office 2000 at work, and I haven't had any problems with syncing using ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center. They just work.
Back up your data files from the X5 (NOT ActiveSync Backup/Restore, they aren't compatible between the X5 Operating Systems) because you'll have to reinstall all of your programs after the upgrade.

No problem on the backup - I had to do a hard reset and lost everything anyway. I thought it ws a good time to investigate the upgrade again. thanks!

Success! Many thanks to those posting on various threads. It's nice to have the dust off this unit. I still like it and can't justify spending $$ on a newer replacement.
