    Question X3i latest software update?

Hi, Sorry if this is a FAQ, i recently bought an axim x3i and im wondering
what is the latest software/ROM version etc for it?
I can't make sense of it from dell's support website...

My system config says i have rom version:
    A02(04080402EN)

    and Software version:
MS Pocket PC Ver 4.20.0 (Build 13349)

Are these the latest versions? Can i update the windows at all to 2003SE or a hacked version or something?

Also unfortunately the dock connector pins are broken somewhat so it wont sync, will buying a infrared dongle for my pc to use activesync that way allow me to install software on the pda, as i'm finding it difficult to install software that isint a .cab file without activesync... (And i can't activesync over wifi without first setting up a partnership )

    Thanks in advance

Hey, see this thread for ROM, you seem to be up to date.

Can't tell you if you can update to 2003se, and any hacked version would be illegal, therefore not done.

    The problem you mention,

if dock is damaged it is possible to buy aftermarket sync cables from many places. Why are you about setting up a partnership to sync via wifi, that will solve your sync problems.

    Cool thanks for the reply
No i mean i can't set up wifi via activesync without first having a partnership set up, and the only way to create a partnership that i can see is with a sync cable or an infrared dongle, Also its not the dock pins that are damaged sry its the actual socket on the Axim itself, which would probably cost more to repair then its worth, I bought an infrared dongle which is in the post i'm hoping i'll have full functionality of activesync etc with that, with the exception that i won't be able to have a keyboard :|

Have you tried enable wirless on PC, enable wireless on ax, on PC search wireless networks and see if ax is detected?

hmm i tried that, it dosen't show up.. I only have a wireless gateway router (not an ad-hoc connection) if that makes any difference... i followed the guide here http://theillustratednetwork.mvps.or...iguration.html and it said prerequisite is that you make a partership first with a wired connection mm
