X30 Upgrade Questions!

Hi all,

Have 2 questions regarding the Dell X30 624 MHz since I just bought a used one on Ebay.

1. Can I use a 4GB SD Card with the X30?

2. Can I upgrade the system to Windows Mobile 5. Does it have the Hardware to run a Windows Mobile 5 smoothly?

3. And anything else I should do right after I get the Dell delivered?

Hi Kunal-

A 4GB SD card should work fine in your X30. You can't upgrade it to WM5 because WM5 requires a very different hardware configuration to work. Dell tried to use WM5 on the X50, a WM2003 native hardware device, but retracted and will not support that OS on the X50 anymore, suggesting a downgrade. When you do get the unit, check its ROM version and compare it to the latest one available from Dell's site. Other than that, think of what you want to do with it and start downloading software!
