New X3 user

Hello. I've asked a couple of questions (thank you for all of your assistance!) and have a couple more. I recently aquired a used Axim X3. One of the Project Manager at work used it for the last couple of years and gave it to me. I don't know the first thing about these little guys. I've been snooping around here and my questions are:
1. How do I find out what this little thing can do? From what I've read the X3 is a basic PDA and my particular model says the Processor Type is Intel XScale, Processor Speed 400MHz, RAM size is 64MB and ROM Version is A01. Oh, I also have a 1GB SD Flash card. I'm assuming it does not have wireless or any of that fun stuff is that right?
2. What are the most recent versions of things should I be running? I think that my ROM version is current. We are running Outlook 2003 at work. What else is there at a basic level that I should check to see if it needs upgrading?
3. What can I actually do with this as it is?
4. Any other suggestions for me? Be nice....
Thank you.

Nikki

First , welcome to aximusers.com.

To answer your questions.

1) You are correct that you do not have Wireless or Bluetooth on your x3. All the fun stuff you need to download and install yourself, some you may have to pay for. This is with the exception of a few simple games already installed in the axim.
Regarding how to use it, you can download a copy of the user manual from Dell.com, but this is like a manual for a car...Tells you all about the car and features, but does not teach you how to drive.

2) A01 is the most recent ROM, all upgrades etc can be downloaded from Dell.com. It might be worth you taking a look at the support section and downloads. If you are using Outlook 2003 at work, that is fine. The only other ting to consider is to upgrade your activesync ( the communication program between axim and PC). The most recent is version 4.2.

As to what can you do with the axim.. It is more a question of what do tou want to do with it ??. If you can do it on a PC, their is probably a PDA version of the software also, you just need to search.

Most people tend to use the PDA at some time for navigation, watching movies or storing MP3's.

Sounds like you will have fun finding out what to use this for.

Good luck
