I can feel the suspense as we reach the final countdown.
I've been waiting almost a year for this.

Roger,
I am hoping that you can help me here - I have a slightly different problem with my X3i and wondered if you have come across it in this forum or elsewhere. I have been searching but it's difficult to find a suitable search string.
If my x3i has been in a case and is taken out for use, most of the time I power on and the screen takes about 2 seconds to light up and won't respond to taps. If I cycle the power 1 or 2 times the screen starts responding and the x3i works normally. I can live with it but it is really infuriating as I am a Paramedic and often need to look up stuff in a hurry for reference and have to stand like a lemon cycling the power trying to get the unit going.
Thanks in advance for your help
Kind regards
Nick

Nick,
I'm afraid loosening the screws is my only trick - that and not losing my styluses.
You might want to try loosening the screws a little - just in case. Maybe some physical adjustment is being made otherwise when you're handling it. It's very quick and simple to do so if it works - great - if it doesn't - it's not a big investment.

Nick,
One more wild shot in the dark here. Have you tried patience? You might see things after 2 seconds, but it might take longer than that for the rest of the software to load to memory. Maybe if you wait 10 seconds, it will work.

Westfielder, is the delay from a full power off situation, or just having the unit suspended?
I do think roger is right though, it takes a while for the system to load, and if you are trying to give it tasks to do before it is fully loaded it creates a conflict and slows down the whole startup process, and depending on what software you have that runs on startup, it all creates a variable environment that will require time
