Questions to the experts

After observing the PocketPC world from the side lines for few years, last summer I finally jumped in and acquired an AXIM X30 on E-Bay. What a revelation ! They are wonderful little machines. I enjoyed it so much that my wife got caught in my enthousiam and I had to acquire one for her also, I went again for an AXIM X30.
Now after few months of experimenting and browsing the different forum on Pocket PC, I still have few questions that I cannot put to rest. Dear experts, let see if you can help:
1- Can an AXIM X30 be upgraded to Windows mobile 2005 ?
2- Both my X30 are operating in english, can they be loaded with a french o/s system ?
3- Both my X30 are equipped with large SD cards ( 2 and 4 Geg). Is it possible to load files on the SD files and sync them ? I can sync any file in the resident memory but I have not figure out how to sync the files residing on the SD card.
4- Can two different X30 sync on one single file residing on the PC ? We have a single file with the inventory of our books and would like to sync that single file on both X30

Greetings Allen and welcome to AximUsers.

1. The X30 will never run WM5. WM5 requires fundamental hardware differences from WM2003 devices. Dell tried to develop WM5 for the X50, which is actually a WM2003 hardware device, and gave up on it.

2. It is possible to change the language but it isn't for the non-technical. There's a good thread over at Aximsite that has instructions.

3. You can sync folders/files to your storage card using a free program called Easy Sync. This is a feature that MS oddly overlooked in ActiveSync.

4. You can have as many PPCs syncing with a file as you want. If your inventory file is a database, you'll need to stop the database before syncing.

Enjoy the X30, it's a great PDA.
