X3i with Excel 2003 Problem

I have an Axim X3i. I have an Excel program that was written in Excel 2003. I am finding that I cannot save data in this program on my Axim. Is it possible/neccesary to upgrade to pocket Excel 2003 on my PDA in order to use this program of mine?

You might want to look into Softmaker's spreadsheet app. Pocket Excel is a peice of junk.
