Help with connection

I have a X30, and cradle. I've had it for years, no issues. It will no longer connect (therfore won't sync). The cradle appears to be working (it charges the device), but I get a continous "chime" on my pc like it used to do when the connection was made. Bad cradle? I've uninstalled & reinstalled activesync...but now it doesn't even see the device connected (because it won't connect).

Any ideas?

Welcome to AximUsers, Karen. Your X30 not connecting could be due to one or more of a variety of issues.

1) Are any of the pins on the sync port on the bottom of the Axim bent?
2) Do you have a cable to test it with to determine if the cradle is bad?
3) Have you tried another USB port or to bypass a USB hub if you're using one?
4) Update your ROM

If you've had the X30 for years with no issues, chances are you haven't ever updated the ROM. Check Dell's support site for the latest ROM version and compare it to the ROM version listed in Start-->Settings-->System-->System Information. Updating the ROM will clear all data from the Axim, you will have to reinstall your programs through ActiveSync's add/remove.
