I have an X30. It will not sync with the USB cable. Last week it would not sync at all. I did a hard reset and now it WILL sync via infrared - but not with the cable. I bought a new cable, but still no luck. It will
charge through the cable, but won't sync. Activesync does not recognize that the device is connected when I plug it in. I have tried all available USB ports. Could it be the serial port on the device? Could it be that the port is slightly damaged in that it will connect "enough" to charge but not enough for ActiveSync to "see" the device as connected? Obviously, I am grasping at straws here!
Syncing via infrared is ok for Outlook updates, but for files and programs I really want to sync with the cable. (And since I did a hard reset - I need to reinstall my games & Zagat programs!)
I've never had a cradle for this device - I've always used the cable, both the Dell one that came with the Axim and an Expansys one I got from MobilePlanet. (The new one I just got is an Expansys. I ordered a Dell as well, but they shipped the wrong item.) Should I try a cradle? Any other ideas?! I shudder at the thought of contact Dell Customer Service with this issue ... Any help from y'all would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Lisa
