Hey all,
Ok, I've read through all the posts here about losing the Built-In Storage and have tried EVERY possible solution offered but to no avail.
Someone of us has to know someone at Dell that knows EXACTLY what the solution to this is.
Even if the horrible truth is that they have to replace the ROM chip and there is no other way to solve this problem, I'd like to know that.
But even after 68 mins on a call to Dell to get assistance, we had only done the same things I had learned from here and other sites.
Just to be able to nail down exactly what happens will allow us to be able devise solutions and procedures to ensure this doesn't happen again to any of us.
Some facts about my Built-In Storage Problem:
1. Did the updates from Dell: R77987.EXE, R77269.EXE, R71183.EXE, R80976.EXE
2. I had Age Of Empires installed in the Built-In Storage and removed it to make space
3. The device runs VERY slowly compared to how it performed BEFORE I lost the Built-In Storage
4. Oh yeah, its an Axim X3 with wireless LAN, no additional storage device, A01 rom
I hope that maybe there is a ROM burning program out there that can allow us to fix this problem on our own, or is the real problem causing this is that Dell bought and used inferior chips and continues to use them?
