x30 Headphone jack and speaker

Well...no one was able to answer my last question...I'll try this one...

Got a new x30 a few days ago. Is there any way to not disable the speaker when the headphone jack is filled? I'm using the pda to control an iFit compatible treadmill The software I'm using, i2workout sends data to the treadmill through the headphone port. I'd like to be able to play an mp3 or watch a video at the same time.
Any ideas?

Have you tried a jack splitter then you might be able to use headphones . unless what you are controling is receiving audio commands or just plain doesn't like sharing the port. I would try it anyway very low cost solution

The jack fitting in your Axim will be exactly the same as in other devises. This means that when you insert a headphone or similar , it is a physical break in the circuit that switches sound to the external devise.

It is not possible to overrride this physical change via software. This is something you can only do by surgery and as your PDA is new, i am sure you do not want to start taking it apart.
