Axim 3i has worked for several months with activesync and laptop working fine. I just replaced my laptop and installed the latest activesync 3.7.1. I cannot get synchronization to work. Created new standard partnership.
Activesync goes through the following when I cradle the X3:
connected...
not connected...
connected...
looking for changes...
connected synchronization error
no error code or any other information. I can browse the device and transfer files from the laptop but cannot get synchronization to work. I have searched the Dell site and the Microsoft knowledgebase. Here's what I've done so far:
installed new ROM patches on X3
confirmed latest version of activesync (3.7.1)
Unchecked all synch options under tools, option within activesync
uninstalled/reinstalled active sync on laptop & soft reset X3
uninstalled/reinstalled active sync on laptop & hard reset X3
Laptop is running XP Pro SP2 and Outlook 2003 SP1. X3i is running Pocket PC v.4.20.1081 with ROM version A00(09100300EN).
Everything appears to work correctly with the exception of synchronization. I can't get my calendar and contacts back on my X3!! Anyone have any other ideas of what I can do?
