Axim X30 Power Button Not Working!

My brand new (like literally I got it less than 3 weeks ago) Axim X30 Power Button doesn'tturn on the Axim! I only can get it on by doing a soft reset and sometimes (about 60% of the time) it says there has been a memory error! So I hard reset and the power button works for awhile then it stops!!! What is going on!!!

I have the exact same thing :cry:
I've had my x30 high now for like 5 days or something.
First I thought it was a software problem, but after doing a
hard reset it still wouldn't power up with the power button.
Mine does power up in the cradle and after removing the
battery for like a second, but not with the power button.
I have the feeling it works for a while after doing a power
up like this, but after a while, like an hour it just doesn't
work anymore.

Could it have something to do with some
wierd powersave function ???

Does anyone have more info on this ???
I really hate to send it back to Dell and wait for a new one.

I too am having the same problem. Wasnt sure whats going on, uninstalled all 3rd party software. 2 or 3 hard resets in a row still did not help. DELL HELLPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Yeah, that sucks. I called Dell Netherlands about it, they
told me to do a hard reset. I did and it still happened, so
I called back and now they're sending me a new one.

Hope that one doesn't have this problem, cause I really
like the x30.

My new one is in process should recive in 10-12 business days. I mearly said it will not turn on and is locking up and i have hard reset often and befor I could get out the next word cust serv said we will replace it. I am guessing since they automatically said the will replace with brand new unit and new battary that they are experiancing a large number of out of box failures. Hope the second one works..

How fast are you hitting the power button? There is a power button screen save feature. Dim display using power button option. Just do a quick press and wait a couple of seconds.

What happens if you press the Record or one of the quick buttons? Those buttons should turn it on also.

I did try that also. I even disabled the screen saveer feature. No luck. My Ax has problems getting turned on. hehehe. I notice that if I leave the unit alone and it shuts down by itself I can not turn it back on no matter what I do. I have to do a reset.

For those who care. just recived replacement AX30. After following directions to a T I tried to emulate the lockup problems that I had. So far I have not had a problem/lockup. And I am trying to lock it up. Next I will start to add software one program at time and try to emulate lockup problem. Will post again in a day or so if issues arise.
