Axim X30 Wireless Connection to Linksys

I just got my Axim X30, and I can't seem to connect to the internet through my Linksys Wireless Router (BEFW1154). The Axim X30 seems to find the router and I have and excellent signal indicator in the lower right corner of the home screen, but I get "The page you are looking for cannot be found" every time I try to use the Internet Browser. What am I missing? Does my browser not know what connection to use, and if so, how do I tell it to use the Wireless connection? (I am not currently using WEP on my router, although that is the next logical step in setting my wireless nextwork.) TIA!

Chances are that you are connecting fine to your router. The problem is more than likely that your TM 1200 card on your Axim is set to work, and is thus not finding the internet connection. Make sure that your Axim's TM 1200 adapter has Internet choosen in the drop down box in the network adapters settings area. Try it once the setting is changed, and I bet it works.

Also, to get this setting to change, you might have to go into the ActiveSync options on your PC. Click the rules tab, and then select Internet from the drop down menu in the PassThrough section. Once you've made the setting change, connect and sync your Axim. This should change the setting on your TM 1200 adapter if you are not able to get the setting to stick by changing it on the Axim itself.

When the Wireless adapter is set to internet, it looks for a direct connection, and thus will find the internet.

I thought it was the IP address. My Linksys router (BEFW11S4) is set up for DHCP starting at 192.168.1.100. My laptop grabs an address fine, so it's working fine. It was giving me an APIPA by default (169.254.x.x). Then I went into network troubleshooting an told it to repair the address. Then it gave me 0.0.0.0 (which obviously won't work).

So then I set it manual to 192.168.1.21 and it still won't work. I'm wondering if there's a problem with the wireless packets on the router. I'll report back if I find anything else.

OK...I solved my problem by updating the firmware on my Linksys. You might want to try that. Be careful, there are several different versions of the BEFW11S4 (if you have that model).
