If your activation code isn't working than I suggest you call TomTom support.

This is almost correct - if a little confusing. TomTom NEVER do free updates to Maps - the company they get the mapping from prohibits this sort of behaviour by GPS mapping retailers. What TomTom were doing was a reduced cost upgrade to V660 mapping with a free upgrade to TT6 - the application. Of course - a few months later TomTom released the new 2007 maps (V675) and expect you to pay for them if you want them. However here in the UK there seems to be problems with the accuracy of the new maps - roads that are still present on the ground have gone missing and vice-versa.
Also you will see different version numbers which are actually the same map - the TomTom stand alone models (510,710,910, One etc.) have different version numbers for their maps. Maps are NOT interchangable between PDA and all-in-one models.

That's the latest supported release for general PDAs. There is a 6.030 available from TomTom to fix an issue with some WM5 mobile phones. It's possible to download it from the site (but not via the TomTom Home app). I have it installed on my X51v and it works well - but TomTom will NOT support this application on my device.
