You would think they would just be able to change the price or mark it as "out of stock" instead of taking the whole site down.

Yeah, you'd think so. Maybe they were so overwhelmed with orders for a $15 PDA that they just freaked out.

Ya know, after four+ years of absolutely flawless service from amazon.com (USA), I recently experienced my first snafu with them--an order that sat and sat, and never shipped, and was finally cancelled. Very strange.

A sign of bigger problems, perhaps?

Boy, the thing about making a mistake with online pricing, (and we all make mistakes, right?), is the VAST consequences a goof like that can bring!
